Job Description

Safety Worxs is seeking a Project Safety Coordinator for a boiler project in Austin, TX.

There is not per diem, so local candidate preferred . The (PSC) is responsible for leading and managing all construction safety activities from project commencement through substantial completion. This role ensures full compliance with federal, state, and project-specific safety standards while fostering a proactive, positive safety culture. The PSC will remain active on the project until the ODR provides written concurrence for removal.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and oversee the project’s safety program throughout the full construction lifecycle.
  • Implement and manage construction safety processes, including hazard identification, mitigation, and routine field inspections.
  • Conduct incident investigations and prepare documentation with preventive recommendations.
  • Provide documented continuing education and practical training in:
  • Fall Protection
  • Scaffolds
  • Excavation & Trenching
  • Confined Space
  • Crane/Equipment Operations
  • Electrical Safety
  • Incident Investigation
  • Review and approve safety method statements and procedures related to high-hazard activities.
  • Coordinate emergency response planning, including First Aid/CPR/AED requirements.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, compliance documentation, and training evidence.
  • Serve as a liaison with the ODR and project leadership for all safety matters.
  • Ensure subcontractors adhere to project safety standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years building construction safety, including:
  • 5+ years in construction safety process management;  or
  • 4-year safety degree and 3+ years of actual field safety experience.
  • Documented continuing education in the following, dated within the last 5 years:
  • Fall Protection
  • Scaffolds
  • Excavation
  • Confined Space
  • Crane/Equipment Operations
  • Electrical Safety
  • Incident Investigation
  • Other relevant safety/health topics
  • Must possess OSHA 500 (Construction Industry Trainer) OR OSHA 502 (Trainer Update).
  • OSHA 10 or 30 and OSHA 510  do not  satisfy the training requirement.
  • Current certifications in:
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
  • (All must be current within 2 years.)
  • Strong, demonstrated experience in incident prevention, field engagement, and enforcing safety compliance.
