Coatings Expert – Structural Steel

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all coating operations: surface prep, mixing, and application.
- Inspect coatings for thickness, adhesion, coverage, and prep quality.
- Maintain/test inspection tools (DFT gauges, adhesion testers).
- Train/mentor team members in coatings and safety practices.
- Track coating supply inventory and compliance records.
- Enforce safety protocols for paints, solvents, and blasting equipment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in industrial coatings, painting, or surface prep (steel/marine/heavy industrial).
- Knowledge of epoxies, zinc, and high-performance coatings.
- NACE/SSPC certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Familiar with coating inspection tools & standards.
- Forklift/overhead crane experience a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Role Details & Benefits
- Schedule: Mon–Fri, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (weekends as needed).
- Overtime available.
- Full-time, exempt.
