Title: HR Specialist 4
Pay Range: $38-$43/hr
Duration: 3+ Months Temp to hire
Location: Deerfield IL 60015
Hours: 9-5 CST or 8-5 CST depending on lunch
Contract: Potential convert to FTE after 3-4 months
HIGHLY prefer local candidates to Deerfield - can be fully remote during contract duration - in order to convert, will need to e able to be on-site in "hybrid" model at Deerfield office, likely 4 days per week
Interview: 1st round with HM and Manager - if local, in person is preferred; possible 2nd round with other team member
Summary:
The main function of a human resources specialist is to plan, direct, and coordinate human resource management activities of an organization to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions.
A typical human resources specialist is responsible for a wide range of organization development activities, such as employee compensation, recruitment (as it relates to policy), personnel policies and regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
Advise managers and employees on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, benefit and compensation policies, personnel procedures and classification program.
Review and approve job positions, classifications, exempt or non-exempt status, and salary.
Review and approve prepared occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales.
Prepare reports, such as organization and flow charts, and career path reports, to summarize job analysis and evaluation and compensation analysis information.
Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers, and mediate labor disputes and grievance.
Qualification:
Experience with data management, system enhancements, and testing HR Management Systems (preferred SAP/Employee Central, Cornerstone, infinite Brassring or -other SuccessFactors modules)
Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards for services.
Experience analyzing and reporting data and/or scenarios in order to identify issues, trends, or expections to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determineing when escalation of issues is necessary.
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel -Basic skills level in both Microsoft Powerpoint and Word.

Strong knowledge of legal policies and procedures related to hiring practices (i.e., equal employment opportunity and affirmative action).

Previous experience with computer applications, such as MS Word and Excel.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience required.
8-10 years customer service related experience required.
