Job Description

Position: AV CAD Drafter / Submittals Coordinator

Location: Lillington, NC (Hybrid Possible)

Employment Type: Full-time

About Us

We’re a small but growing commercial AV systems integrator based in North Carolina. We design and install a wide range of AV solutions for government, education, and house of worship. Our projects are diverse, and we pride ourselves on providing clear, coordinated work that makes life easier for our clients and field teams.

What You’ll Do

Draft AV shop drawings

  • Prepare floor plans, device layouts, elevations, rigging/mounting details, and basic schematics based on design intent and redlines.
  • Use AutoCAD (or similar) to produce clear, well-organized drawing sets for approval.

Prepare submittal packages

  • Compile and organize equipment cut sheets that match the final scope.
  • Assemble complete submittals for review and coordinate revisions as needed.
  • Keep track of drawing versions and changes.

Coordinate with our team

  • Work directly with our lead designer/estimator to understand each project’s requirements.
  • Communicate with project managers to ensure accurate as-builts and final documentation.

Stay organized

  • Maintain consistent file management and drawing standards so we can respond quickly when needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans (floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations).
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational habits.
  • Familiarity with how AV systems fit into commercial buildings.
  • Experience with AV system layouts, device schedules, rack elevations, mounting details, and low-voltage drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of Revit or Bluebeam.
  • Understanding of how submittals fit into commercial construction projects.
  • Self-motivated and reliable with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines.
  • Comfortable asking questions and communicating when something isn’t clear.
  • Willing to learn and grow as part of a collaborative team.

Why You’ll Love This Job

Big impact, small team: You won’t be a tiny cog in a huge machine - your work will directly help us win jobs, get approvals faster, and make the installation crew’s life easier.

Growth potential: You’ll see all sides of AV system design and installation. If you want to learn more about design, estimating, or project management, we’ll help you grow.

Real work-life balance: We understand this role can be done hybrid. We care about getting the work done, not where you do it. Although some weekly face-to-face days are preferable.

What We Offer

  • Salary: $50,000–$60,000/year , depending on experience.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Flexible schedule with the option for hybrid work once up to speed.
  • Opportunities to learn more about the AV industry if you’re interested in expanding your skills.
